Egos Clash Behind Stall in Search for Nefertiti’s Tomb

British Egyptologist Nicholas Reeves, director of the Amarna Royal Tombs Project, claimed last year that the tomb of King Tutankhamun holds a hidden doorway that leads to the tomb of Queen Nefertiti, the stepmother of Tutankhamun. Additional scans by radar technologist Hirokatsu Watanabe seem to also confirm there are two hidden chambers based on structural anomalies.

Yet, Live Science, recently released the news that National Geographic Society’s radar scans of King Tutankhamun’s tomb show no hidden chambers behind the walls. Dean Goodman, a geophysicist at GPR-Slice software, which conducted the scans for National Geographic and issued the definitive word, said he was barred from commenting on his findings. Disappointment reigned throughout the Egyptology world except, perhaps, for one man—Dr. Zahi Hawass.

Hawass, a former minister of Egyptian antiquities, who was ousted  due to accusations of corruption and Image: Zahi Hawass illegally selling antiquities in 2011, has vehemently been saying since day one that there are no hidden chambers, and that Nefertiti will not be found behind the walls, because he already found her mummy several years ago, which was aired on a TV show, one of many he has hosted for the History Channel, National Geographic and others. He points to DNA testing to confirm the legitimacy of his discovery.

Seasoned Egyptologists will readily admit that DNA testing on any mummy is inconclusive. The pharaohs and queens all inter-married within the royal family to protect sovereign blood lines, so any mummy found within a cache or “family” of mummies, would have similar DNA, rendering positive identification almost impossible.

Royal mummies were often moved from their initial burial site, sometimes put in used coffins, stripped of identification (and jewels), as was the case with the unknown mummy Hawass claims is his Nefertiti. In Egypt, as everywhere else in the world, DNA analysis is not a perfect science. Consequently, many questioned Hawass’ stance that he had actually found the real Nefertiti. But to challenge him, while he was still minister, was considered professional suicide.

The problem with Hawass is that he hates to be proven wrong. He also doesn’t like to watch from the sidelines while another Egyptologist, especially a foreign one such as Nicholas Reeves, might get credit for what could turn out to be the discovery of the century. It is no secret Hawass has openly challenged and ridiculed Reeves every step of the way, threatening that Reeves “would never be allowed to test his theory.”

Many authored Egyptologists, often allude in their books to Hawass dismissing their initial findings, sometimes even shutting down their digs or denying them further access, only to come back at a later time, when everyone is gone, and take credit for their discovery. Access to ancient sites, meant pandering to Hawass. Is it any wonder the man has made plenty of enemies over the years, resulting in his swift ouster during the 2011 Arab Spring uprising and regime change. Many Egyptologists say that while Hawass has done much to preserve ancient history during his reign as antiquities minister, he also did much to suppress important findings.

After his fall from professional grace, Hawass vowed to make a comeback. Towards this end, insiders currently believe he has been working behind the scenes to sow seeds of doubt and dissension between all parties, including the current minister of antiquities Khaled El-Enany, and the recently replaced minster, Mamdouh Eldamaty, who declared he was “90 percent” certain that such hidden chambers exist. Hawass may have been ousted from direct power, but he still seems to think he wields a mighty sword of influence behind the scenes. He may be right.

No one is sure why National Geographic abruptly pulled the plug, claiming nothing is there, when others have found evidence to the contrary, but insiders allege that Hawass might somehow be behind it.  Hawass’ relationship with the National Geographic Society goes way back. In fact, it was because of some of the contracts he illegally made with National Geographic, without required Egyptian government authorization, which contributed to him being accused of corruption charges for personal profit. Insiders theorize that Hawass may, once again, have his own agenda and timeline for this potential new discovery.

Archaeologist Howard Carter, who discovered King Tut’s untouched tomb hidden under another tomb in 1922, may not have thought to look any further in his tomb search. In 1998, when the Amarna Royal Tombs Project was granted permission to search for new tombs in the Valley of the Kings, Nicholas Reeves recalled the information once given by Egypt’s infamous seer Om Sety. In the book, Om Sety’s Egypt – A Story of Ancient Mysteries, Secret Lives, and the Lost History of the Pharaohs, by Hanny el Zeini and Catherine Dees, Om Sety talked about Nefertiti’s tomb:

Chapter 18, “She Who Waits: Finding Nefertiti (p. 265). “Now, about the tomb of Nefertiti”, [Omm Sety] continued, sounding a bit hesitant. “I did once ask His Majesty where it was, and he told me. He said, `Why do you want to know?` I said I would like to have it excavated, and he said, `No, you must not. We don`t want anything more of this family known`. But he did (p. 266) tell me where it was, and I can tell you this much. It`s in the Valley of the Kings, and it`s quite near to the Tutankhamun tomb. But it`s in a place where nobody would ever think of looking for it,” she laughed. “And apparently it is still intact.”

Debate continues to rage, as witnessed at this past weekend’s Second Annual Tutankhamun Grand Egyptian Museum Conference in Cairo. Over a hundred people watched the two former government ministers, Hawass and Eldamaty, sit onstage and angrily accuse each other of trying to drill holes into World Heritage Sites without proper permission.

The quarter-size hole needed in Tut’s tomb to put speculation to rest, would be drilled near the floor of the unpainted North wall (believed to be a false wall), and a small fiber optics camera would be inserted. No one is threatening to drill without permission. Permission to do so is what this entire drama is all about. They drilled holes even bigger in the hidden door found in the shaft of the King’s Chamber in the Great Pyramid during Hawass’ time. So this is really a power struggle between ego and politics.

Right now there are two different radar scans showing contradictory evidence. In Reeves’s theory, these doorways present several clues suggesting that the tomb was originally built for another ruler—Nefertiti, the principal wife of Akhenaten. It is not certain whether she is the biological mother of Tutankhamen,  or if he is a stepson by another of Akhenaten’s wives. But if she is buried in the hidden chamber next to him, it would certainly support a maternal theory.

Nefertiti died suddenly in year three of Tutankhamun’s reign (1331 BC) and apparently vanished without a trace. When Tutankhamun himself died shortly into his rulership, at age 19, in all likelihood he was hurriedly buried in someone else’s finished tomb—someone with rank who had a tomb befitting a king. Tut’s current tomb is considered quite small, the size of a royal’s antechamber, not a full tomb. This is considered quite unusual for a king, even for one that had an uneventful and short reign. This would lead to the theory that it might be a partitioned double tomb. Perhaps, Om Sety was correct in saying that Nefertiti was buried close to Tutankhamun” where nobody would think to look,” (at least for centuries, that is).

I’m sure before long, we will all know the truth about Nefertiti’s final resting place. That should be the treasure of all treasures.

iPhone’s Siri Sends Messages from Beyond

SiriListeningWho hasn’t heard a story of someone getting a strange phone call in the middle of the night from a deceased loved one attempting to contact them? Many report hearing static on the line, or a distant familiar voice. The call always seems to originate from some non-existent phone number like 000-000-0000 or even 999-999-9999. Unnerving? Definitely.

Those who have passed beyond have often found a myriad of ways to contact loved ones still on this Earth plane. In my last blog, I addressed how some who have died have been able to impress messages on film media to let us know they are still with us.

Due to technology progressing so fast, it appears the spirit world has now moved from landline communication to cell phone messages—even working through Apple phone’s virtual assistant, “Siri.” Quite a number of people have some amazing tales of how Siri has affected their lives in the realm of after-death communication.

Kellee White, a well-respected medium and licensed psychotherapist in Beverly Hills, California, read my blog and felt compelled to tell me of her recent story involving Siri. Let me preface by saying that Kellee is a good friend. She is able to see the dead and works as a bridge between the two worlds. In fact, her special gift has proven to be very helpful in moving her clients through grief and any unfinished business with a loved one.

Kellee prays every day before seeing clients. She always asks for guidance to best help her clients with whatever they need. One morning, after a particularly difficult psychotherapy session, her phone, which was turned off and on SILENT, suddenly came to life. The Siri screen spoke:

“I AM TRYING TO HELP YOU KELLEE.”

Kellee reports that she hadn’t voiced any words for HELP. In fact, she hadn’t spoken at all. While this experience was quite incredible as a single event, clearly validating she was indeed connected to divine guidance in her work, it then happened again on another occassion. Kellee had been working in mediumship mode with a client whose deceased father had come through. At the end of the session, the client’s phone, which was also on silent mode, came on and Siri delivered the voice message:

“I HAVE TO GO NOW. KISS KISS. I LOVE YOU.”

Kelly’s communication is not an isolated one. Others report similar experiences. One 35-year-old woman reported that shortly after her mother died she had a disturbing experience around 2am:

“I was lying in bed, trying to get to sleep. Just as I was about to drop off, I heard a familiar double beep sound spring from my iPad. I opened my eyes to see the screen suddenly light up and, for some reason, ‘Siri’ had been triggered to ‘On’. After a moment, it double beeped again, and I saw the screen change. I reluctantly climbed out of my bed and strode over to the chair. The iPad displayed a list of suggested things to say to ‘Siri’ to warrant a response. In the top right hand corner, it displayed the word that had been said: ‘HELP’

“Had I not been so tired I perhaps would have gotten worried, but at this point I just wanted to sleep. I clicked the iPad off and reasoned that it must be faulty. Climbing back into bed, I heard it come back on and double beep again. After a few seconds and the next double beep, it spoke: ‘TALK TO SIRI.’

I was about to get up when it beeped again. After a few short seconds and two more beeps, it spoke: ‘I CAN’T FEEL MY LEGS’ followed by ‘YOU CAN’T?’ This was creeping me out now and I hadn’t spoken a word the entire time. Double beep again, and then: ‘WHY CAN’T SHE SEE IT?’ followed by ‘HMM… LET ME THINK.’

It did a word search on ‘WHY CAN’T SHE SEE IT?’ That was enough. Clearly there was a bug in the software. I got up and picked the iPad off the chair. I almost didn’t read the conversation, figuring it would just freak me out. I wish I hadn’t now. I turned my iPad off and buried it under some clothes in the wardrobe. I don’t want to look at that thing again. It wasn’t a software bug, it can’t be. It’s too coincidental. My mum had died in a car crash. She lost both of her legs.”

It should come as no surprise that, more and more people are reporting that their siriwishcell phones are being used as a means through which the dead can communicate. Voice and visual text messages appear to be the communication of choice these days. After all, unlike landline phones, cell phones have a whole word dictionary at hand to make clearer communication possible. Static phone messages from beyond are now probably an outdated thing of the past.

In another case, a woman had come into possession of her mother’s iPhone upon her mother’s recent death. Because she had no need for the phone, she allowed her young daughter to have it as a toy. One night, after her husband had put their daughter to bed, the young girl came into their room and said that the phone was making weird noises. The phone was not on a data plan and had never been connected to a wireless WiFi router. The father took the girl back to bed and checked the phone. The noise the young girl had been hearing was a text message alert. There was three messages on the phone. “STILL THERE” “LOVE” “BEAUTIFUL GIRL” The messages came across with a three-minute pause between each message. The text message was received by a phone number made up of all nines.

A study by Tesco Mobile, in conjunction with Paranormal Research UK, revealed  a 70 percent upsurge in paranormal evidence in the last year due to people using their cell phones. Phil Hayes, a spectre investigator with Paranormal Research UK, believes a third of all spirit communication is now through mobile phones. That’s an astounding statistic.

The technology that powers our smart phone devices is one of the fastest advancing technologies ever. Yet, even spirits have to master a new learning curve. It was recently announced that Siri is on the verge of becoming obsolete. “Viv” is now the latest artificial intelligence bot from Siri’s creators, which they say can do even more. Siri today; Viv tomorrow. Communication from beyond should soon become even more interesting!

Capturing Images on Film from Another Dimension

sydneys-story-21296736Sometimes I think the universe and all its many dimensions likes to have fun with us. Perhaps even weird us out occasionally to keep us either questioning or in complete awe—like seeing one’s dead dog on a recently shot film after it had been dead for years.

I have some very dear and well-known friends who see dead people and professionally communicate with spirits all the time. But back in 1982 I didn’t know them, and what happened to me even had some psychic research experts scratching their heads.

For some reason, I found my detailed notes on the experience this past week, hidden away in a forgotten book. The story was just begging to be retold.

Back in January 1982, I was living in Kansas with my then psychologist boyfriend. A few weeks earlier, I had returned from spending the Christmas holidays in Chicago where I had shot footage on my Super 8mm movie camera of my family snowmobiling. Earlier that day I had picked up the processed film from the local Photomat and when I got home wasted no time threading it onto my projector to see what I had.

Immediately I saw a chest of drawers, which shouldn’t have been there. I had the split second thought this must be someone else’s film. Then what I saw next sent me into a state of semi-shock. Running across the screen, as clear as could be, was my schnauzer dog, Winnie, who had died seven years earlier in 1976, a long time before I even owned a movie camera. No movie film of her existed.

It was one of those “OH.MY.GOD.” moments, where your brain can formulate no other words. My screaming brought my boyfriend running, thinking I had encountered a dead rat. Together we re-played the film several times and tried to make sequential sense of what we were seeing.

The film opened on a lopsided shot from the floor tilting up, showing a chest of drawers that I faceinshadowsrecognized as being in my little brother’s old bedroom. Next was a short black blip on the film which, upon closer examination using a light box, looked like a woman’s face in the shadows whose identity was unrecognizable. She was wearing a white sweater and what was either a dark-colored head scarf or shoulder length brown hair. I had no idea who she was.

Immediately the film returned to the bedroom chest of drawers where Winnie ran across the screen with the camera going in for a close-up of the dog’s face so there would be no mistaking the animal’s identity. Winnie looked like she had just been given a haircut, which she had just prior to her death, and her ears were unclipped, just like we had left them. I kept asking myself—just who is operating this camera?

The scene on the film suddenly shifted to my parent’s Chicago living room where Christmas decorations, stockings and our holiday tree were all missing. This was not December time. Placement of certain objects and furniture in the room told me it had to have been during a time when Winnie was still alive. Some of the objects were no longer there in 1982. The phantom camera operator panned the living room back and forth, with no other apparent reason than to show things clearly. Suddenly the film went to WHITE and then the film returned to 1982 and my family snowmobiling scenes that should have taken up the entire film.

I distinctly recalled that when I started shooting the snowmobiling, I had to unwrap new film and load the camera. The opening shots of the frozen lake were gone, now replaced with the strange Winnie footage. At the time I shot the film it was very cold outside and I recall looking at my footage meter and noticing that the indicator was not moving as accurately as normal. I attributed it to the cold temperatures and nothing else. One has to wonder when the transference took place. Was it already impressed upon the film before I started shooting, or after? I had purchased the new film roll and others only a few weeks earlier.

To make things even stranger, that Christmas my mother had given me the paperback book, Voices on the Tapes, not knowing I had just bought a book at the airport, titled, Phone Calls from the Dead. Coincidence? I think not. As Albert Einstein said, “Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous.” I was being set up for another unexplainable experience, like others I would continue to have in my life.

My psychologist boyfriend referred the strange experience to the The Menninger Institute, a psychiatric institution in Topeka, Kansas, where they were studying altered brain states as well as psychic phenomenon (among other things). Dr. Elmer Green, the Director of Menninger’s, contacted psychiatrists Dr. Stuart Twemlow, MD and Dr. Glen Gabbard, MD to meet with me and discuss the film.

Both doctors were interested in how intent, during altered states of awareness, might affect physical matter. They were curious to see if I could consciously affect film to bring about strange manifestations. They hooked me up to a deep focus state audiotape and let my movie camera run.

While I found it an interesting experiment, I’m sure they were sadly disappointed to find the results extremely boring. Not surprising for me, the film showed nothing. I never thought it was me influencing it, but rather a random message of awe from the universe.

On the other hand, Twemlow and Gabbard had expressed interest in the possibility of officially documenting the case and perhaps presenting the unusual phenomena at the American Society for Psychical Research in New York City. I guess somethings happen only once—at least in my case. Thankfully, I was not destined to be a psychic guinea pig.

The footnote to this story is that my “Winnie” film was authenticated by Kodak Labs, where it was sent to verify it had not been tampered with through editing. Along the side of the film are sequential symbols marking frames and the year the film roll was manufactured. What they found stamped on my “Winnie” film roll was the code symbol for the year 1976. I submitted another film roll to the lab which I had purchased at the same time. The code symbol for this roll showed 1981. While this made events even more bizarre, it immediately made my film undocumentable. Someone could always claim I had saved film I shot from that year when the dog was still alive—even though neither my parents or I ever owned a Super 8 camera back then. So this strange story just remains another strange story without explanation. Life is often like that.

I have no idea where the Winnie film is today. It might be packed away somewhere in a box or I might have accidentally tossed it years ago when I sold my old equipment and went to digital.

Today, things are different—not even as shockingly strange as years ago. Due to the Internet, we DO hear of cases where people consistently pick up other-worldly images on film. For some people, it doesn’t matter whose camera they are using. The results are always the same, as seen in this interesting 8-minute video below. It will forever leave you wondering…

In Search of the LIBRARY of TRUTH

truthMany years ago a therapy client of mine, who had experienced a near-death experience in a horrific car crash, told me that she found herself in another dimension where she visited a place where information resided on every soul ever born or any event that had ever taken place. “Like a Library of Truth?” I asked. “Yes,” she confirmed. “I hated to leave,” she admitted. “I could have spent lifetimes there finding truthful answers to all my questions.”

There were no lies in this place, nor spin on the facts. She learned things about her own life as well as being able to access information on Earth history. While many may be familiar with the premise of an otherworldly depository of wisdom, known as the Akashic Records or Book of Life, the thought of spending time in such a place really intrigued me. Needless to say, I never forgot that particular conversation.

In fact, the conversation would later plant the seed for the 12-episode STACKS web series I wrote and produced for fun in 2010 with some of my movie industry friends (Watch it Here). I always thought the premise would make for a wonderful TV series or movie. Wouldn’t we all like to find the portal into a Library of Truth?

Currently, we live in times where the “Truth Movement” is growing. “Truthers,” as they call themselves, are demanding NO MORE LIES from government, industry, church and, well everyone and everything out there that has tried to suppress the truth and forever keep the populace in the dark. Knowledge is power and those who deceive are scared to death of the masses becoming enlightened. They will stop at nothing to destroy the whistleblowers and purveyors of truth.

“Truth is Treason in the Empire of Lies.”—George Orwell

Man’s Search for Truth is intrinsic. It is hardwired into his soul and psyche, because with it comes understanding and growth. If one man’s truth might be another man’s folly, how do we know what is really truth? In answering such philosophical questions, we might get caught up in the illusion of how things appear in order to arrive at an answer. However, appearances can be deceiving. We might see things only as we want to see them based on preconceived beliefs. We may go along with what the majority says is true, never coming close to the truth. Fifty-one percent of a group can easily reach a wrong conclusion. We see it happen in science and medicine all the time.

Truth, like knowledge, is difficult to define. It resides in the realm of metaphysics and the study of what is real. The paths to seeking truth are numerous and sometimes elusive. Universal truths transcend cultures and individual preferences—like physical death. We all know we will eventually die. It’s an absolute truth. Then there are spiritual truths (e.g. we are all spiritual beings on a human journey; our souls never die; love is all there is). The entire subject of what truth is and what truth means to each and every one of us has plagued philosophers for centuries.

We can always fantasize about living in a more evolved world where there is nothing BUT truth. If you were to envision yourself journeying to the Library of Truth, what would you seek after finding the book on your own life? I would take out the book on the true origin of mankind, the true origins of life and the911truth4peace3 cosmos, the Book on the Divine Plan which would probably cover it all. And somewhere in there is a Book of Complete Wisdom just waiting to be opened.

Okay, for sheer curiosity sake, I would definitely check out who the real culprits were behind 9/11, the Kennedy assassination, and other nefarious and sinister plots  and coverups in history—if only to confirm my existing suspicions. When you are thirsty for knowledge, truth is unlimited.

But perhaps in this other dimension, one already has an all-knowing of this information and it matters not. Maybe the Library of Truth is just there for reference validation as mankind’s depository of his educational soul journey—like some celestial parent who keeps a record of every aspect of their child’s progress and development.

VAXXED Movie Controversy: What You Should Know

vaxxedimageThis past weekend I managed to secure ONE ticket to the Los Angeles opening of the documentary VAXXED, which is about the vaccine autism controversy. Every showing throughout the day was SOLD OUT almost a week in advance for a theater that doesn’t even take pre-seating reservations. People were actually lined up outside. Why such a hot documentary? (Watch the Official Trailer below)

If you haven’t heard about this film, it’s the one that was slated to be screened at actor Robert DeNiro’s Tribeca Film Festival last month and, due to high pressure by “powerful interests” (i.e. probably the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Vaccine Pharmaceutical manufacturers, and other government shills), DeNiro backed down and took it off the schedule. One can only imagine what they threatened him with regarding the fate of the Festival should he not comply. DeNiro said he just wanted the film out there to start an informed national discussion. He and his wife, Grace, have a son with autism and are trying to understand why, as are thousands of other parents just like them.

As could be expected, trying to stifle this controversial documentary backfired and only made it hotter. Negative publicity is like gold in the film industry. VAXXED is currently playing in New York and Los Angeles (it will even be played at the big AutismOne Conference in Chicago in May) and it will certainly spread to other cities and countries around the world. The cat is out of the bag and people now know, if they hadn’t already suspected it, that our government doesn’t always tell us the truth—especially when it’s not in their financial best interest.

Let me first start by emphasizing that VAXXED is NOT about ANTI-VACCINATION; more importantly, it’s about VACCINE SAFETY. No where in the film does anyone say the concept of vaccination is a bad thing or tell you not to get your child vaccinated. What you will hear is that something has gone terribly wrong with today’s vaccines and it’s time to ask serious questions and get truthful answers. Autism rates began skyrocketing in the late 1980’s when children, before the age of 36 months, started receiving a program of multiple vaccine shots all at once. One would think there wouldn’t be a soul out there against vaccine “safety” for kids, but apparently there are.

In 2013, biologist Dr. Brian Hooker received a call from a Senior Scientist at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) who led the agency’s 2004 study on the Measles-Mumps-Rubella (MMR) vaccine and its link to autism.

The scientist, Dr. William Thompson, confessed that the CDC had omitted crucial data in their final report that revealed a causal relationship between the MMR vaccine and autism. Over several months, Dr. Hooker recorded the phone calls made to him by Dr. Thompson who provided the confidential data destroyed by his colleagues at the CDC.

Dr. Thompson’s analysis of the data showed that multiple vaccines given before the age of 3 years old were increasing autism by as much as 23%, especially in Afro-American males. When a “single vaccine only” program was suggested to cut the risks of multiple vaccinations, the option was quickly taken away. Thompson was told, “It will destroy our MMR program.”

Dr. Hooker enlisted the help of Dr. Andrew Wakefield, the British gastroenterologist falsely accused of starting the anti-vax movement when he first reported in 1998 that the MMR vaccine may cause autism. In his ongoing effort to advocate for children’s health, Wakefield directs this documentary examining the evidence behind an appalling cover-up committed by the government agency charged with protecting the health of American citizens.

Interviews with pharmaceutical insiders, doctors, politicians, and parents of vaccine-injured children reveal an alarming deception that has contributed to the skyrocketing increase of autism and potentially the most catastrophic epidemic of our lifetime. It’s understandable why so much effort was made to suppress this film.

What is quite disturbing to learn is that there have not been any long-term studies carried out, by the CDC or a vaccine manufacturer, using a control non-vaccine study group to analyze results against those receiving the vaccine. This is truly astounding when, as every doctor and researcher knows, the scientific community and its varied professional journals demand double-blind or control group studies for drug efficacy.

The VAXXED documentary does not explore what might have made vaccines less safe than before. It only makes one want to ask important questions that need to be known. Since those questions might open a whole other can of worms, I will attempt to shed some light on the issue…

University of Pennsylvania’s Dr. Brian Strom, who has served on Institute of Medicine panels advising the government on vaccine safety says the prevailing medical opinion is that vaccines are scientifically linked to encephalopathy (brain damage), but not “scientifically” linked to autism. (NOTE: The Zika virus is blamed on mosquitos, but many of the women, who gave birth to children with brain encephalopathy, were mandated by the Brazilian government to have multiple vaccines while pregnant. Read More) This is important to keep in mind.

While Dr. Strom suggests they can’t prove the autism/vaccine link (others strongly disagree), let’s take a closer look at what’s happening in a child’s body when they do have autism. John Hopkin’s researchers found that these children experience acute brain inflammation from widespread activation of brain immune cells  trying to fight off a toxic foreign invader. When the body wages war against itself, it is considered an autoimmune disorder. Autism falls into this category.

No one has officially determined what the actual invader is that the child’s immune system is trying to ward off leading to autism. Is it multiple vaccines that overwhelm the developing immune system at such an early age? Is it the controversial mercury preservative known as “Thimerosal” which has been put into some vaccines to protect the vaccine from degradation when refrigeration isn’t always available? Or is it something else even more insidious and disruptive?

Very few people realize that when vaccine manufacturers started removing Thimerosal from theirautismchart vaccines in the late 1980’s, they began the worldwide practice of using human DNA from aborted fetal cells. MERK lists this on their ingredient label as “recombinant human albumin.” According to a recent Environmental Protection Agency Study (EPA), in 1988 there was a sudden spike in autism disorders, which is the same year the U.S. Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices began recommending a second dose of the MMR vaccine using the human cell cultures.

The use of growing vaccines in human cell cultures has problems, says former pharmaceutical senior scientist, Helen Ratajczak. She explains that when these human cell fragments are in the presence of the disease they are grown in, both are identified by the immune system as an enemy of the body. This is immediately seen in the neurons of the brain.  The body attacks the brain cells causing acute inflammation, which can continue throughout the life of the individual. Ratajczak also says an additional increased spike in autism occurred in 1995 when chicken pox vaccine was grown in human fetal tissue. Fetal cell tissue is used today in approximately 23 vaccines.

Years ago they used animal DNA tissue in vaccines, which is why many people became allergic to their pets after receiving vaccinations if cat or dog cell cultures were used. The immune system sees these cells as the enemy. The problem is that with current vaccines used from human tissue, the body will try to reject it, much like an organ transplant recipient might reject a donor organ. The long-term risks to human health of injecting infants, children and adults with human protein/DNA have never been studied.

In 1985, 1 in 2500 children had autism. Today, that figure is 1 in 250. Every seven minutes another child in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. At this rate researchers predict that by 2032, if something is not done, 80% of boys will have autism. There are many reputable scientists who have done studies showing the link between vaccines and autism. Most all have been discredited after trying to publish their findings—like gastroenterologist, Dr. Andrew Wakefield. Anyone who has ever tried to write an article on the vaccine safety subject has been either vilified or silenced. Even the Huffington Post suppressed a review of the VAXXED documentary by a veteran writer of their newspaper.

National Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 protected vaccine manufacturers from lawsuits. We clearly need to review our vaccine safety policy. Future generations of children are counting on us.

A recent update to this story now suggests that Dr. William Thompson is under attack by the CDC to change his story and resubmit “re-analyzed” results refuting his original claims. We can only hope he stands strong against this opposition.

Where the Seat of the Soul Resides

For centuries man has been asking what constitutes the soul, where does it reside, and where does it go upon death? The Ancient Egyptians believed that the Seat of the Human Soul resided in man’s Heart. Because of this belief, the heart was the only organ preserved, in all its purity, inside the mummified body. The rest of the organs, brain, guts, intestines, etc. were removed and preserved in canopic jars, should they be needed again in the afterlife.

Mummification and viscera preservation was not a standard practice for everyone during ancient times. Only the wealthy could afford such a complex and laborious process, which was usually the case with kings, pharaohs, royal families, and high officials and noblemen.

According to The Egyptian Book of the Dead, a soul was judged by the “Feather of Truth” in the “Weighing of the Soul” ritual. The ‘heart’ of the Soul was handed over to Anubis, the god of the afterlife, who placed it on a great golden scale balanced against the white feather of Ma’at (the goddess of harmony, justice and truth), on the other side. If the soul’s heart was lighter than the feather due to good works, then the soul was freely admitted into the bliss of the Field of Reeds, a heavenly paradise. Should the heart prove heavier, due to leading a bad life, it was thrown to the floor of the Hall of Truth where it was devoured by Amenti (a god with the face of a crocodile, front of a leopard and the back of a rhinoceros) and the individual soul then ceased to exist. There was no `hell’ for the Ancient Egyptians; their `fate worse than death’ was non-existence.

Lightness of heart and soul meant the person had led a life of love, compassion, good works, and spiritual attunement. Sometimes the wealthy would cheat a little, hoping to rack up brownie points for judgment day, by paying others to do good works for them. Even back then, man looked for ways to beat the system or, in this case, the gods.

The Egyptian’s concept of the soul isn’t much different from what we accept today. The soul is that part of you that existed before you were born and that will exist after you die. It connects you to the God Source. It embodies all that you’ve learned in the past and will carry with you into the future.

“The soul is the core of your being. It is eternal. It doesn’t exist in space/time. It’s a field of infinite possibilities, infinite creativity. It’s your internal reference point with which you should always be in touch.” — Deepak Chopra

In other words, the soul is the great “I Am” that inhabits the body and acts through it. Without the soul, the body is like a light bulb without electricity, a computer without software. Through the soul the body acquires life, sight and hearing, thought and speech, intelligence and emotions, will and desire, personality and identity.

They say the soul weighs 21 grams, but this is urban myth born of faulty science. In 1901 a GW150H171physician named Duncan MacDougall conducted some experiments on six elderly patients dying of tuberculosis. He assumed that if souls exist, they must have material weight and by measuring a body before and after death one could calculate what a soul weighs. His results varied widely.

Four of the six patients lost weight after death, one lost weight immediately, another continued to lose weight for a prolonged period, and still another lost weight, then gained weight, then lost weight again. MacDougall measured a loss of 21.3 grams in the first patient monitored, which is the figure he stuck with despite the other patients’ weight variations. Pretty deplorable science by today’s standards.

MacDougall published the results six years later in the Journal of the American Society for Psychical Research. News of the experiment was published by the New York Times in the March of 1907, spreading MacDougall’s ideas and results even further into the mind of the general public.

What MacDougall failed to take into consideration was that the body loses weight after death for many common reasons, none having to do with the anatomy of the soul. A dead body has the unpleasant tendency to leak fluids when the muscles relax. The bowels evacuate, the body may bloat due to decomposition, and the cells in our body, which contain enzymes, start producing gases. All this happens upon death and varies for each individual, causing weight differences.

The soul cannot be weighed. The soul is intangible and does not have mass. But since everything is energy, and the soul has energy, what can be measured—especially at the moment of death? If anyone has been witness to either a birth or death, the energy felt can be quite profound.

I had a rather strange conversation with a cardiac surgeon one day about his experiences during heart transplant operations. He told me that he often felt a profound depletion of life force energy drain out of his own physical body whenever he removed a heart from a donor heart person. However, when he held the same heart in his hands and transplanted it into a heart recipient, he would feel an electrical charge go through his body. He said it made him feel “very alive.” I’m not sure where to classify this conversation, but it stuck in my mind. I wonder if other cardiac surgeons have experienced a similar experience?

If the soul resides in the heart of the living being and the body dies, and the heart is transplanted, many might ask if the soul is also “transplanted”?

I recall a psychologist friend of mine once telling me that after his wife had undergone a heart transplant operation it was like being married to a complete stranger in every way. Being an energy practitioner himself, he was especially sensitive. He told me, quite regrettably, that it felt like his wife “was gone.”

The Ancient Egyptians believed the heart of a person should never be separated from its owner, which is one reason they carefully preserved it inside the mummified body. Of course, back then they didn’t have heart transplant capability either, so the idea of a donor heart benefiting another human being never came into question.

In Srila Prabhupada’s purport to Bhagavad-gita 2.17, this issue is addressed:

“The influence of the atomic soul can be spread all over a particular body. According to the Mundaka Upanishad, this atomic soul is situated in the heart of every living entity, and because the measurement of the atomic soul is beyond the power of appreciation of the material scientists, some of them assert foolishly that there is no soul. The individual atomic soul is definitely there in the heart along with the Supersoul, and thus all the energies of bodily movement are emanating from this part of the body. The corpuscles, which carry the oxygen from the lungs, gather energy from the soul. When the soul passes away from this position, the activity of the blood, generating fusion, ceases. Medical science accepts the importance of the red corpuscles, but it cannot ascertain that the source of the energy is the soul. Medical science, however, does admit that the heart is the seat of all energies of the body.”

What we can hopefully agree on is that the soul is immortal. It does not end when the human body ceases to exist. It may actually reside interdimensionally within each of us, which is why it has no mass or weight in this physical dimension. I have heard some near-death experiencers talk about actually seeing the soul on “the other side” and it is pure light.  Our visual spectrum on this plane cannot view it. This is where we might get into the infinite realm of quantum physics and Planck’s scale of energy to better understand the dimensions, but that’s for another blog. While we spend millenniums searching for answers to the Soul, they too, like everything else, can probably be found deep within each of us waiting to be re-discovered. It’s usually always hidden in plain sight. I think God must be chuckling.

Hidden Essene Texts Provide Clues to Bible’s Origin

isaiahscroll10Contrary to popular belief, the four Gospels that comprise today’s Bible were all anonymously written. There were no “By lines” informing us that Matthew, Mark, Luke and/or John were the actual writers.

Two centuries after the Bible was written, Biblical Scholars named each Gospel based on indications within the text of who they thought might have been the most likely author.

No one knows for sure who wrote what in the Bible, since much of the teachings of the time were collected from oral tradition (word of mouth by either an eyewitnesses) or from hearsay (someone who knew someone who knew Jesus and his work). That leaves a lot of wiggle room for Truth. Think of it as a biblical game of “Telephone.” Who knows how close to accurate the message will be after countless re-tellings and hundreds of translation tweakings. Eventually, it all gets accepted as fact.

None of the Gospel authors claim to have been a member of the apostolic group around Jesus or to have actually known any of the original Twelve Apostles. Modern scholarship, based on linguistic and textual analysis, and accompanied by the discovery of many ancient copies of Gospel manuscripts, shows that all four Gospels were written in Greek, outside of Roman Israel, at least thirty to sixty years after the death of Jesus.

While the accuracy of the Bible text is not the primary focus of this blog, more important is where these Gospel authors derived their core information from. Did the authors create their own original texts or did they copy large parts of knowledge from some other unknown work by someone else?

New Testament scholars agree that both the Gospels of Matthew and Luke were copied mostly from the Gospel of Mark and, writing independently of each other, Matthew and Luke copied large amounts of material from some unknown earlier source. Scholars have nicknamed this unknown source “Q,” from the German word “quelle,” meaning “Source.”

Some of these same scholars also believe that the Gospel of John is the work of several authors, with several portions added at a later date by someone who may have been a devoted follower who historians have referred to as the “Redactor.” Apparently, style, syntax, and a host of other red flags tipped them off that major changes had been made.

There are no original copies of any book of the New Testament. Fragment verses from the Gospel of John were all that existed in the first half of the second century. Then there was an explosion of over 3000 handwritten Greek manuscripts that showed up in the second to seventeenth century. A whole lot of Bible writing seemed to be going on back then.  All were obvious copies.

Yet, everything still points to this unknown original “Q” source as a major influence in all four Gospels. Comparisons between similar verses in Matthew and Luke, who did no know each other (if they were the real Matthew and Luke), seem to confirm that they were copied from the Gospel of Mark and another source. While Matthew and Luke do not put these sayings in the same order, nevertheless they each repeat many of the same sayings, sometimes word for word.

Although no actual copy of “Q” has ever been found, many scholars are convinced that such a document once circulated in early Christian communities. Jesus was raised in the Holy Mount Carmel area of Northern Israel, which was home to the mystic prophet sect called the Essenes. Jesus’ parents, Mary and Joseph, along with his grandparents, cousins, and Jesus himself, were all raised in the Essene community where they adhered to very high spiritual beliefs.

The Essenes taught in parables and so would Jesus. Jesus would follow in the footsteps of his cousin, John the Baptist, who was already a preacher in the outlying communities. Like John, Jesus had a more liberal view of the tenets of his Essene brotherhood, preferring to embrace all differences, yet still remain connected to the brotherhood teachings.

The Hebrews called them “The School of Prophets” and, to the Egyptians, they were “The Healers, The Doctors.” They had property in nearly all of the big cities and, in Jerusalem, there was even a door that bore their name: The Door of the Essenes.

The Inner Essene community recognized Jesus as a Messiah. They saw him as a teacher of wisdom; A man who tried to teach others how to live in Peace and Oneness. Many of Jesus’ apostles came from the Essene community. They were the early missionaries carrying the word of God. It is highly probable the “Q” source originated within the Essene sect and Jesus’ closest followers adhered to what they already knew. They used these collected written sayings as their teachings.

In 1945, a chance discovery in Egypt provided surprisingly new evidence that rekindled interest in israel-qumran-caves-where-scrolls-were-found-1the possible existence of “Q”. Two brothers, from the Nag Hammadi area, stumbled upon a cave containing earthen jars which held twelve leather books containing about 52 ancient texts. This became the Nag Hammadi Library and these well-preserved writings were known as the “Gnostic Gospels,” gnostic meaning to know or relating to esoteric knowledge.

These texts would be kept under raps for almost 50 years while access by biblical historians to study them was limited. They told of an alternative version to Jesus’ teachings based on the belief that man could find the Kingdom of Heaven from within. They were believed to have origins within the Essene community and considered heretical by orthodox Christianity.

These Gnostic Gospels are often confused with the Dead Sea Scrolls, which were also discovered around the same time in 1946 near the ruins of the city of Qumran in Egypt. The seven scrolls found there led archeologists to finding more than 900 documents dating from between 200 BC and AD 68.  They were believed to have been hidden to keep them safe from the anticipated Roman destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70.

These Dead Sea Scroll texts had been secreted away long ago by a strict celibate sect of Qumran Essenes (often priests) who did so for the purpose of preserving their historical heritage and spiritual knowledge. Eventually these texts would comprise what the Church called the “Gospel of Thomas,” because the name of the person who supposedly wrote this Gospel is given in the first lines of the text as “didymos Judas thomas.”

About a third of the scrolls were copies of the Hebrew Scriptures. Another third were Jewish stories and commentaries on the Old Testament Books, while the remaining third dealt with the day-to-day life of the Essene community who had lived in the region. Included in these Essene papers were many of Jesus’ sayings and teachings—quite possibly the unknown “Q” source.

Interestingly, the sayings of Jesus in the Thomas texts were much like those found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, but with some inherent spiritual differences from today’s Bible version. The Gospel of Thomas taught that the essential nature of God is Oneness. One must find that place of balance at the very core of their being. This is where one will find one’s true Self…. where one will find God…. where one will find Peace and Joy. It is where the great “I AM” returns home. We don’t find these particular teachings in today’s version of the New Testament. Thomas may be the most accurate of the biblical texts to reflect the true, deeds, sayings and beliefs of the man Jesus before they got skewed or misinterpreted.

I am quite certain there will be more originals texts found near those same Qumran caves, perhaps with the help of ground-penetrating radar. There are some that believe a few of the original Gospel of Thomas texts were mis-labeled and contain even more surprising information if examined more carefully. In time, this will be discovered as well.

While some of these ancients texts are still hidden somewhere within the Earth, others have been secreted away in private libraries around the world, the Vatican Library being the most well-known.

Vatican Digitizing HistoryIn 1923 another amazing discovery was made. Edmond Bordeaux Szekely was able to discover Essene documents in the secret archives of the Vatican. In his book The Discovery of the Essene Gospel of Peace, he tells the story of how two chess players helped him meet the renowned Monsignor Angelo Mercati, Prefect of the Vatican Archives. He told the Prefect of his desire to learn all he could of the Saint called Francis. He was allowed to research the vast 25 miles of bookshelves containing scrolls, parchments, paper manuscripts and codices. Within the labyrinth he found an Aramaic translation of The Essene Gospel of Peace as well as the The Essene Book of Revelation. His research led him to seek out the Benedictine monastery of Monte Cassino. He was allowed to do this because the Monsignor had written a letter granting him access to the large vitrines in the Scriptorium. There he found the original Hebrew codices of The Essene Gospel of Peace, the source for the Aramaic version found in the secret Vatican Archives. It’s rare that anyone has this kind of access. What other treasures might be hidden there has us forever wondering. Would those revelations change the world as we know it? Probably.

Biblical archeology will forever continue to fascinate us as we re-disover our lost history, sift the wheat from the chaff, and ultimately re-connect to our own Divine Truth.

Mission to Inner Earth – Is it Really Hollow?

hollow_2971889b

In February, 1947, Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd, leading a United States Navy Task Force expedition, flew for seven hours beyond the North Pole and reached a place never before recorded in history. The expedition, known as Operation HighJump, proceeded to penetrate the hollow region of the Earth for 1700 miles. There they found a Land that was green and lush with growing plants, flowers and thick forests.

Nine years later, January 13, 1956, the same Rear Admiral Byrd, leading another official expedition to the Antarctic, flew from his base at McMurdo Sound. which is 400 miles from the South Pole, and entered the hollow region of the Earth near the South Pole, for 2300 miles. Was he looking for the other Polar entry point to this hidden Land?

Byrd’s controversial diary on Operation HighJump, now allegedly missing, tells of his plane being greeted by “flying machines,” a type he had never seen before. They conveyed to him that he had been allowed to enter “Agharta” (the most celebrated city in the hollow Earth) because of his high moral and ethical character. They had decided that it was time to make greater contact with the outside world to make sure we didn’t destroy this planet and their civilization with it. Eventually Admiral Byrd and his crew were guided by their hosts back to the outer world, their lives forever changed.

On March 13, 1956, Admiral Byrd returned to the United States and said,”the present expedition has opened up a vast new land.” (which he later referred to as an “enchanting continent in the sky.”)  He reported how sea water changed to fresh water nearer the Pole opening and the waters became warmer and more tropical. He believed the opening to the Poles was convex versus concave, whereby ships or planes could accidentally float or fly into the opening.

These explorations were divulged on the radio at that time, having world-wide significance. Although millions of people heard the announcements and press releases, the U.S. Government decided to strictly censor the information and prevent its circulation. No additional details were given and the reports of Rear Admiral Byrd were forgotten—well, almost.

A more sinister version of the story is that Byrd had an altercation with Nazi forces that MAP of Inner Earthoverpowered them with their strange “flying machines.” It was said that the Nazis had gotten to the North Pole first and had already established a base there after reverse engineering alien spacecraft which had crash-landed in Germany. The Germans claimed to have also encountered human beings inside the Earth that were what Hitler would come to call “Aryan,” in nature or “the Master Race,” something he would later attempt to emulate in the Third Reich. A video has recently surfaced which shows a 1944 map from the Third Reich detailing not only the direct passageway used by German U-boats to access this subterranean domain, but also a complete map of both hemispheres of the inner realm of Agharta.

Later in 1959, the Antarctic Treaty was signed by 12 nations that protects Antarctica and any foreign intelligence that occupies this area. The area on the mainland between 90 degrees west and 150 degrees west, combined with the interior of the Norwegian Sector is the only major land on Earth not claimed by any country. This, in itself, is interesting.  Why would so many countries be so concerned over what appears to be a vast icy wasteland? The Treaty states:

Article 1 – The area is to be used for peaceful purposes only; military activity, such as weapons testing, is prohibited but military personnel and equipment may be used for scientific research or any other peaceful purpose;
Article 2 – Freedom of scientific investigations and cooperation shall continue;
Article 3 – Free exchange of information and personnel in cooperation with the United Nations and other international agencies;
Article 4 – The treaty does not recognize, dispute, nor establish territorial sovereignty claims; no new claims shall be asserted while the treaty is in force;
Article 5 – The treaty prohibits nuclear explosions or disposal of radioactive wastes.

The hollow Earth story is fascinating—especially since I met someone back in 1971 who allegedly claimed to have come from “Inner Earth.” It’s a bit of a bizarre story. I was a college undergraduate at the time, when a friend introduced me to a young 20-something-year-old, blue-eyed, blond-haired, tall man named “R.J.” while walking through Downtown Chicago’s Grant Park.

R.J. was very relaxed, found everything most curious and interesting, and seemed quite friendly. I asked him where he was from, to which he slowly replied, “You’ve probably never heard of it.” Upon further questioning, he told me his mother had been born in Inner Earth, as had he, and that he was just visiting after meeting relatives in Arizona for the first time. My first instinct, like most everyone else’s, was to wonder if he was either on some serious drugs or was pulling my leg. He seemed sincere and dead serious. At that point in time, I had never heard of Inner Earth, vaguely knew of Admiral Byrd’s expeditions, and this was the pre-internet age before one could quickly go look up such things.

My friend, who was with R.J., nodded that he was for real. I played along and asked R.J. what his Inner Earth was like. He related that people all got along with each other, that it was beautiful, clean and verdant, more heart-centered and spiritual in nature, and there was a sky and sun just like on outer Earth.

I just had to ask him what airline flew him here? He smiled patiently, told me there were entry and exit points in outer Earth, and some day I would know and understand about his world. Was it some type of prophesy? Frankly, I didn’t know what to make of it until years later when I came across information on this very subject.

Plato wrote of enormous subterranean tunnels both broad and narrow that made up the earth’s interior. Dr. Edmond Halley, of comet fame, believed that all heavenly bodies were hollow and in a speech before the members of the Royal Society of London stated that beneath the crust of the Earth, which is 500 feet thick, is a hollow void.

Leonhard Euler (1707-1783), a noted mathematician and one of the founders of higher mathematics, stated that mathematically the Earth has to be hollow. He also believed there was a center sun inside the Earth’s interior, which provided daylight to a splendid subterranean civilization.

The Hollow Earth was also theorized by William Reed in his 1906 book The Phantom of The Poles. Based on his studies of early Arctic explorations and scientific evidence, he wrote that the Earth is not solid as widely believed, but hollow with openings at both ends. In the summary of his revolutionary theory, Reed states: “The Earth is hollow. The Poles, so long sought, are phantoms. There are openings at the northern and southern extremities. In the interior are vast continents, oceans, mountains and rivers. Vegetable and animal life are evident in this New World and it is probably peopled by races unknown to dwellers on the Earth’s surface.”

4The Poles ARE magnetic phantoms. While airlines may claim they “fly over the Poles” to cut flying distance time, they actually fly around the rim of the Poles, avoiding the opening.  If they actually flew over the Pole area, which is a restricted no-fly zone (ask any pilot), their compass instrumentation would become so unstable as to render the plane dangerously inoperable.

In fact, according to the author of Deep Black – Space Espionage and National Security by William Burrows (my former NYU Journalism professor), the very first Polar orbiting satellites that the United States attempted to launch fell out of orbit over the Poles and crashed due to the unanticipated gravity pull.

It’s important to remember that all these hollow earth theories by past scientists, philosophers, and mathematicians were written long before Admiral Byrd made his discoveries. While the concept that the Earth may have an interior sun sounds beyond imaginable, there are some findings that may support this concept. Polar explorers speak of a phenomenon they called a ‘mirage’ where the sun would appear in the sky at locations that they could not explain.

This so-called ‘mirage’ would look very red and ‘brazen’ in color. What makes this most curious is the fact that these explorers were extremely adept at telling their location from the layout of the stars and the position of the sun.

The further these explorers would proceed north, the more erratic their passage north would become, until finally they would be forced to turn backwards until they regained their bearings. This confusion can be easily explained by the unexpected curvature of the earth they encountered as they approached nearer the opening into the inside of the earth. The phenomenon they titled a ‘mirage’ was actually the sighting of the inner sun rising over the horizon of the inner earth opening.

An October 2015, a news article reported that NASA had picked up radio signals coming fromnasa-earth-signal inside the earth that were “mathematical codes” of a complex nature. While there were those who immediately claimed it was signals from an alien civilization, there might be a more scientific answer if the Earth is indeed hollow.

The curvature of a hollow planet would be such that radio waves could bounce around it almost ad infinitum until they lost their strength. The fact that the time delays of these radio signals varied so much seem to suggest that these waves were bouncing around inside a hollow cavity.

This could only happen if the Earth’s crust contains one or more gigantic holes in it. A signal could enter via the North or South Polar holes. Exiting from the Polar holes would be extremely difficult since they cover only a small fraction of the Earth’s surface area. Some radio waves may move around the outside of the Earth, while some may go inside then later emerge. All manner of variations could result from radio waves bouncing around the outside and inside of a hollow planet.

It has been said that Tibetan monks know of openings into Inner Earth. Other writers have proposed that Ascended Masters of esoteric wisdom inhabit subterranean caverns. Some of the locations believed to be entrances to another world inside the Earth are accessible in Antarctica, the North Pole, Tibet, the Himalayan Mountains, Peru, Bolivia, the Andes Mountains; Rocky Mountains in Colorado; Mount Shasta and Mount Whitney in California; Grand Tetons in Wyoming; the Secret Valley near Tucson, Arizona, Mount Fuji, Japan and the Pyrenees Mountains along the border of France and Spain. But, of course, none of these points can be verified.

I recall that R.J. said he arrived in Arizona after departing from his home in Inner Earth. Whether he came through the Secret Valley near Tucson (as suggested above as an entry point), I will never know. I regret not having asked him more questions about the mysteries of the world he claims he originated from. It will forever have me wondering…

Why Talking to Yourself is a Good Thing

talk-to-yourslefIf  one was stranded alone on a desert island, like Tom Hanks’ character was in The Castaway, talking to yourself is understandably a good thing to do to relieve loneliness and stave off the insanity of prolonged isolation.

But what if you talk to yourself when other people ARE around? What does it say about you? That you’re crazy? Surprisingly not. As it turns out, not only do the smartest people on earth talk to themselves, but doing so is a sign of GENIUS.

Albert Einstein used to softly repeat sentences to himself. He believed it made his brain work moire efficiently and he was right. Now science is catching up to explain this curious phenomenon.

In a study published in the Quarterly Journal of Experimental Psychology, psychologists Daniel Swigley and Gary Lupyah conducted an experiment where 20 people were given the name of an object (like a box of cereal or an orange), then were told to locate the object in the supermarket.

The participants had to be silent during the first object hunt, then the experiment was repeated where they were instructed to say the name of the object aloud as they searched for it. The participants found the object easily when they spoke to themselves throughout the search. Swigley and Lupyah hypothesized that saying the object out loud lights up the brain and serves to better consolidate memory. Perhaps this is why we often talk ourselves through finding lost keys or cell phones.

I often talk to myself when I’m working through a problem or trying to fix something. So does my officegirl talks to self.jpg.653x0_q80_crop-smart manager. I give myself pep talks and even congratulate myself when I solve a complex problem—like getting the printer or computer to work. It’s called “self talk.”

Talking to yourself not only keeps one focused on the task at hand, but it helps to clarify your thoughts and allow inspiration to come through to accomplish your goals. We learn this ability in childhood. Children often talk to themselves when learning something new—like how to put the toy they’ve taken apart back together again. It helps them remember for future recall as well as make sense of how the mechanics of the world works.

Greater problem solving is not the only benefit of talking to yourself. Scientists and psychologists agree it also relieves anxiety and stress. According to a study conducted by Columbia University psychologist, Dr. Ethan Kross, people who speak to themselves in the third person are more likely to have less anxiety, give better speeches and presentations, complete tasks with higher performance results, communicate more effectively, and maintain a deeper sense of self-advocacy than those who use the first person ‘I.’ They are also more successful.

frog-talking-to-selfSo instead of saying to yourself, “I am so stupid,” instead say, “Kathy, that was not a very smart thing to do.” Talking to yourself in the third person actually makes you smarter, more imaginative, and more confident. This is because using your name removes you from all of the emotional intensity that you subconsciously associate with yourself in the first person ‘I.’ Speaking in the third person lights up the brain’s cerebral cortex, which is the outer layer of neural tissue linked to memory, perception, awareness, thought, language, and consciousness.

Now, you’re probably wondering about all those people who are walking the streets talking to themselves who clearly have mental health issues. The difference between a thought disorder and healthy self-talk is that the former do it excessively coupled with delusional and hallucinatory thoughts they believe aren’t their own. Oftentimes there is paranoid behavior. So don’t worry that talking to yourself is harmful to your mental health. Think of it as your personal cheerleading team for a more successful life.

Warning Signs for Choosing an Alternative Health Practitioner

energyforhealingI was a recent speaker and exhibitor at the Conscious Life Expo in Los Angeles which is attended by thousands of visitors annually searching for answers on such topics as health, the cosmos, spirituality, consciousness, and the strange and unexplainable.

There are times when I am aghast at some of the claims I hear made by well-meaning health professionals along with those just wanting to make a fast buck. There was even an exhibitor giving away free toxic blue cotton candy (spun right on-site) to attract buyers to their health scan booth—like some dentist doling out candy in his waiting room. And, believe it or not, the people were eating up that free blue sugar like it was manna from heaven.

A little common sense usually tells us who to take seriously and who to avoid when it comes to our health, but sometimes we can be hoodwinked because we want to believe.

Below are some good warning signs to keep in mind when choosing an alternative health practitioner or healing energy worker:

  1. Keep on walking if they tell you they can CURE you or make healing promises. No doctor or energy practitioner can promise that a pill, supplement, surgery, quantum energy device, and/or any other medical treatment can cure you. To do so is irresponsible. They might give you possible success rates based on helping others with similar problems, but nothing works all the time for everyone. If that were the case, people would not be searching for alternatives. REMEMBER: ONLY YOU CAN CURE YOURSELF. Healing comes from within, not without. Healing oneself is part of our soul’s journey and happens only when a person is truly open and ready for change.
  2. Avoid those self-promoting what great healers they are. Ego trips are a sign of lack of true spiritual growth. Know the difference between someone saying their job is to help facilitate healing energy coming through them vs. someone claiming to have the power to actually heal you themselves.
  3. Avoid those who tell you that you have to act now or sign up for something before it’s too late. Pressure of any sort is a sign of a someone who doesn’t respect your right to reflect and decide. Deep down only you know what’s best for you, not them.
  4. Avoid those who tell you that you will need a lifetime of treatment, mostly expensive, from them.
  5. Avoid those who try to convince you that after working on you that you feel better, or your pain is less, when you don’t feel any different. While there is something to be said for the power of suggestion, if they are not listening to your feedback then they are not helping you.
  6. Avoid those who offer free trials to zap all your bacteria, pathogens, viruses, etc. by using your photograph placed in trays along with other people’s photos. While long-distance remote energy treatments are definitely viable, like prayer, no one-size fits all treatment should be done on multiple participants simultaneously. In fact, it’s downright dangerous. Bleed through can happen in the energetic field from one person to another. I’ve conducted my own experiments in this area, and know from first hand experience that energetic fields can overlap. I’ve seen incidents where the person suddenly started taking on mysterious symptoms from the person whose photo was either placed above or beneath theirs—even though they had no knowledge of who the other person was. This has led to taking on someone else’s emotional and physical symptoms—even sexual addictions and inclinations. Only one person at a time should be sent long distance energy and never use some generic detox protocol that could make them feel worse.
  7. Avoid those who prescribe countless pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, and/or vaccines as being totally necessary, despite the warning side effects. They should be encouraging exercise, proper nutrition, health education, and/or lifestyle changes to make a true difference.

Take responsibility for your own life and always remember to allow for healing. Don’t hand over the control reins to someone else or you may be driven down a path that is not in your best interests. Above all else, follow the guidance from your Higher Self and be discerning. Wisdom to know what to do is sure to follow.
